What's a GUI file?
With a subscription to the Lynda.com website, one downloads their tutorials' movie files directly (and, if a premium subscription, the accompanying exercise files as well). Only the purchasers of their DVDs are able to make use of a menu system or graphical user interface (GUI) to view the movies. The GUI makes the presentation of the movies more efficient, especially as movies within a chapter can be played sequentially with a single click. Unfortunately, Lynda tutorials shared through bittorrent often lack the corresponding GUI files so replicas have to be created to restore their functionality.
So how do I use these?
* First, you need to download the actual tutorial movies. These are often distributed as ISO images (an archive file representing the entire contents of an optical disc). Many can be found on Demonoid.
* Second, download and unrar (ie. decompress with WinRAR) the corresponding GUI file. This will create a folder with the necessary subfolder structure on your hard drive.
* Next, you need to extract the movie files from the ISO and copy them to the appropriate locations in the GUI folder structure. Often this will be accomplished by mounting the ISO as a virtual drive, however, WinRAR is also able to open ISO files and extract their contents. Once you have located the movie files they should be copied into their corresponding "..\data\movies\chapxx" folders in the GUI. For example, Movies that begin with 00_ should be copied to the ...\chap00 folder, movies that begin with 12_ should be copied to the ...\chap12 folder, etc.
* Finally, the exercise files can be extracted to the ...\exercise files folder.
Please remember that the total path cannot exceed 255 characters or you will get an error message when you start up the windowmode.exe file!!!

But if you are using a Mac...
Included in this collection is a Mac Gui Apps.sit file. Unstuffing the contents to the root folder of any GUI should enable Mac functionality. Sorry I don't have a Mac and can't advise you further.
Some menus are fugly!
Well, they did evolve over time, but if you want to replace my meager efforts your own creations, you will also find a folder with blank background art to assist you.

“MEYDANLAR”
Bu yıl geleneksel fotoğraf yarısmamızın onuncusu gerçeklestirilmektedir. Her yıl ekim ayının ilk pazartesi günü kutlanan “Dünya Mimarlık Günü” dolayısıyla gerçeklestirdiğimiz “Mimarlık ve Kent Senliği” etkinliklerinde sonuçlarını sergileyecek olduğumuz yarısmamızın teması, 2009 yılı için “meydanlar” olarak belirlenmistir.
ilk yerlesimlerle birlikte insanların bir araya geldiği, bulustuğu, sorunlarını tartıstığı bir mekân olan meydanlar, sosyal yasantının bir gelisimi olarak ortaya çıkmıs ve mimarlıkta daima önemli bir kent öğesi olarak ele alınmıstır.
Meydanlar, tarihi süreç içinde çesitli sekillerde olusmus ve islevlendirilmistir. Sosyal, ekonomik ve kültürel olarak tüm kente hizmet veren mekânlar olarak değerlendirildiği gibi, yeni kentlerin baslangıç noktası olarak da ele alınmıstır. Bu bağlamda, kentlerin sosyal, ekonomik ve kültürel belleklerinin de odak noktası olan meydanlar, özgün karakteristik bir kimliğe sahiptir. Bu yanlarıyla mimari ve kültürel mirasın da önemli bir parçasıdır.
Bütün bu nedenlerden ötürü, ilkesiz bir anlayısıyla yaklasılmaması gereken meydanlar, ne yazık ki ülkemizde her alanda süregiden tahribattan payını almaktadır. Hızla yok olan bu önemli kentsel mekânlarımızın mimari, sosyal ve kültürel yanlarıyla belgelenmesi ve görsel arsiv olusturulması, yarısmamızın ana amacıdır.
YARISMA KOSULLARI
Katılım: Yarısmaya, Türkiye’de çekilmis en çok 6 adet renkli ya da siyah/beyaz fotoğrafla, Seçici Kurul ve Ajanda Yayın Kurulu üyeleri dısında herkes katılabilir. Analog fotoğraflar 5x5 cm camlı çerçeveye konulmus 35 mm saydam olarak, dijital fotoğraflar ise uzun kenarı 40 cm olacak sekilde 300 dpi çözünürlükte tif ya da jpeg formatında CD’ye kaydedilmis olarak gönderilmelidir. Daha önce ödül almıs ve yayımlanmıs fotoğraflar ile bu fotoğrafların deklansör farklılığı içerenleri yarısmaya katılamaz; katılıp ödül almıs olsalar dahi ödül geri alınır. Fotoğraflar belge niteliği
tasıyacağından sayısal müdahaleler bu özellik dikkate alınarak yapılmalı, görüntünün ana yapısı değistirilmemelidir. Fotoğraf kenarlarında bosluk bırakılmamalı, herhangi bir çerçeveleme islemi yapılmamalıdır. Katılımcılar yarısma kosullarını kabul etmis sayılırlar.
Kimlik: Saydamlarda çerçevenin doğru bakıs yönünde sol alt kösesinin renkli bir nokta ile isaretlenmesi ve arka yüzüne katılımcının 6 rakamdan olusan rumuzunun ve fotoğraf numarasının yazılması gerekmektedir. Dijital fotoğraflarda bu bilgiler dosya adına yazılacaktır. Fotoğrafların üzerinde baska herhangi bir bilgi yer almayacaktır. Katılım formunda katılımcının açık kimliği ve iletisim bilgilerinin yanı sıra mutlaka her fotoğrafın numarası ile çekildiği yer ve tarih bilgisi ile varsa fotoğrafın adı yer almalıdır. CD kayıtlarındaki adlandırmalar katılım formu ile aynı olmalıdır. Katılım formu doldurulduktan sonra bir zarfa konarak zarfın üzerine sadece rumuz yazılmalıdır.
Fotoğrafların Gönderilmesi: Fotoğrafların ve katılım formunun bulunduğu zarf, postada zarar görmeyecek sekilde paketlenerek basvuru adresine gönderilebileceği gibi elden de teslim edilebilir. Postadaki olası gecikme, hasar ve kayıplardan Mimarlar Odası sorumlu tutulamaz.

Fotoğrafların iadesi: Ajanda için seçilecek 41 fotoğraf dısındaki fotoğraflardan yalnızca saydam olanlar, ajanda yapımından sonra ödemeli kargo ile iade edilecektir.
